This Brazilian specialty coffee is harvested using the traditional stripping method. It is a balanced coffee made from the best Arabica varieties of Brazil. At the Fazenda Mar Azul farm, in the Cerrado Mineiro region, at an altitude of about 920 meters, is where this Brasil 'Cerrado' is produced, one of the most sought after coffees in our online shop. In the production of this Brazilian specialty coffee, the region's excellent climate and careful harvesting and drying processes stand out. Today their great challenge is to produce differentiated and special coffees respecting the pillars of sustainability. The activity of this farm is focused on economic viability, social justice and environmental friendliness.
Coffee began to be grown in Brazil around 1730, with plants of the French Guava. But it wasn't until the early 19th century that large landowners, who later became known as the "coffee barons," became interested in coffee production. Today, Brazil is the largest producer of Arabica coffee in the world. The main coffee producing areas are in the states of São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and Minas Gerais, where the best qualities are produced. It is precisely from this last area, the Cerrado Mineiro, that our "Cerrado" Brazil comes.
